This database shows volatile organic compound (VOC) emission rates from upholstered chairs with different flame retardant (FR) treatments. The chairs are categorized as no FR added (No FR), organophosphate chemical flame retardant added (OPFR), reactive chemical flame retardant added (Reactive FR), and no added FR but a barrier material added between the foam and textile cover (Barrier textile). Emissions were characterized by CIRI using exposure chambers. Emissions of specific VOCs from different chair types can be compared using this tool.

Detection frequency was calculated based on all 4 studied chair types.
